Second Lives

When Vitalic released his most recent album back in September (wow has it been that long?), I was just simply blown away at how much he has evolved, and in my opinion, for the better. There were a few tracks, one in particular, Second Lives, that had me glazed over for the better part of the holidays.

So you can only imagine how excited I was to find out that he had some “new” material to hit us with. Well unfortunately his recent release Second Lives is just a a bunch of remixes and the original with acts like The Bloody Beetroots laying down a remix.

However my favorite remix on the release is done by the Belgian duo Mustang.

I really need to see Vitalic live.

Green Eyed Love Classixx Remix

Despite my feelings on past Mayer Hawthorne remixes, I am pleasantly surprised. Staying with the smooth groove of the original, and not heading into harsh break beats, Classixx have taken a cue from Paul Hardcastle’s “Rainforest” by matching smooth instrumentals to a prominent drum beat. Congratulations, Classixx you’ve made a remix better than the original song.
